Has anyone be able to run Hyper-V on HP workstation xw6200 ? If yes, what
BIOS should be set for it? Thanks.

Don't have that model HP workstation, but the general answer is to upgrade
to the latest BIOS (always a good idea with HP, IME.) And then enable VT and
the Execute Disable bit.

Hi all, As far as I am aware the latest bios release for the xw6200 wa
sometime in 2006. I have the most current bios on my machine and nowher
are you able to enable VT like in other machines I have worked with. SO
I dont think it is at all possible to have this feature on and use i
with ESX/ESXi even if it is 64bit. The VM function can only work if you
processor AND your BIOS support it. I had to stick to making 32bit OS V
since this did not work. And yes I have looked and searched the web fo
any other soutions and suggestions but, came up with nothing. Hope thi
helps

Hi Beni,

I knew the xw6200 quite good therefore I'm sure 98% sure that the processors
do not support Hyper-V (VT/Execution Bit). Did you had afterwards upgraded
the hardware to an newer generation CPU otherwise Hyper-V will not run there
:-( To be sure, you should check at HP what they states.

Also you can run some processor ID tools to identify if your hardware is
ready for Hyper-V.
