Integration Services Setup CD is "blank" when used on Fedora 11

I have set up a Fedora Core 11 VM on Hyper-V. After the Fedora installation
is complete, you reboot the system and it walks you through a setup porcess
and then dumps you out into the standard desktop. At that point the mouse
does not work because the new VM does not have the hyper-v integration
services installed yet. (During the setup, the mouse does not work but the
tab key does so you can move through the options.)

I want to get the mouse to work. When I use the Hyper-V manager to insert
the "integrations services setup CD", Fedora pops up a window informing that
a blank CD has been inserted. I am stuck and cannot configure the server
without the use of a mouse (I am Linux newbie and do not know my way around
Linux yet without GUIs.) Can someone please tell me how to get the DVD
device to recognize the setup disk?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Integration services is apply for Windows OS. According to the MS, fedora
core is not listed as support guest OS. Pls refer to
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2008/en/us/hyperv-supported-guest-os.aspx

Currently the Linux integration services is still under beta. You can try to
get it from
http://connect.microsoft.com

Ericlaiys, I too have the problem brad supplied, except that I am running
Suslinux, which according to MS is a supported distro. It seems all versions
of linux are having this same problem, as I've tried Ubuntu as well with no
success.

I get the same problem when trying to install Linux Integration Services v 2.1 with Fedora 12 on Hyper-v running on Windows 2008 sp2. Has anyone successfully installed this on Fedora?

Many thanks..
